3rd, 4th, & 5th graders!
The American Red Cross will present their The Pillowcase Project. It is a 45- to 60-minute presentation during which our Girl Scouts will learn about how to stay safe during a tornado as well as home fires. Girl Scouts will also learn a psychosocial coping skill, through deep breathing or positive visualization exercises, to be better equipped to be emotionally resilient through an emergency.
The Pillowcase Project will help create a generation of children who understand the science of hazards, are empowered to take action preparing for emergencies, and are excited to help create a prepared community by sharing what they have learned with family and friends.
Troop Leaders must have Beyond the Meeting training and follow all guidelines for day trips outside the regular troop meeting, which includes permission slips, green sheets, girl/adult ratio, and first aider.
